Shawarma Grill

 Shawarma Grill (Paisley Road)

Good-day readers and, welcome to our second Food review. In our last review we covered "Wingstop" so be sure to catch up on that post if you haven't already! This next review will cover the restaurant "Shawarma Grill". Shawarma is a Turkish cuisine which typically involves chicken, beef, lamb or a combination of all three. These meats tend be cooked on a rotisserie style spit and are sliced from it to form thin slices.

The Menu

The menu at Shawarma grill was simple and humble, offering many of the dishes you should expect at a fine Shawarma restaurant. All dishes were halal and gluten free. This makes their menu accessible to a wide variety of customers. From their menu, I ordered a mixed shawarma wrap, which was a combination of lamb, chicken and beef with fresh salad and red cabbage. Within the wrap you are also offered garlic mayonnaise and chilli sauce, I opted for both. The meat and salad was wrapped in a freshly made pita bread. Secondly I ordered a BBQ chicken wrap. The base of this wrap was similar to the mixed wrap however it came with a more premium flavoured BBQ chicken instead of the mix of meats in the first wrap.

The Food

All in all, how was it? The meats were perfectly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection, with some crispy parts too due to the nature of the spit roast. All the food was fresh as advertised on their neon billboard even towards the end of the day (when I ordered it). The salad had a nice crunch to it and was complimented nicely by the combination of garlic mayonnaise and chilli sauce. I would say that the mixed shawarma wrap was my favourite of the two due to combinations of the different meats within it even with the lower price point.

Overall - 9/10

High food quality, low price point (£10.48), quick service, what's not to love!
