One 2 Wan

One 2 Wan I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Chinese takeaway One 2 Wan. I had often seen many people waiting outside this particular takeaway and decided I too would join them that evening. One 2 wan is a family run takeaway that serves authentic canton (food from the southeast Asia). One 2 wan opened well over 15 years ago and has since been filling the bellies of hungry tourists and locals. The Menu The menu was of all you could ask for from a great Chinese, the order we made (myself and two others) was a mixed Chow Mein with sauce, a King Prawn Chow Mein, a Satay Chicken, two Large Spring Rolls and some Egg Fried Rice. I opted for the Mixed Chow Mein as my primary dish but was sure to try the others' food too. The menu also includes a variety of deals, a kids menu and set dinners. The Meal deals, although we didn't opt for any of them stood out to be for being a great value for money and as a nice bonus they throw in free prawn crackers for any orders over £14....

Morello

Morello (Woodlands Road) Welcome back, The restaurant Morellos has two locations in Glasgow, but the one we're here to talk about is located on Woodlands Road. Morellos, uses locally sourced foods and gets its food delivered daily ensuring that its fresh it. Morello also gives back to the community as they are part of the G20 youth festival providing financial donations for kitchen equipment to help feed the local community, this certainly wins them some brownie points with me.  The Menu  Morellos offers a vast expanse of options, from burgers, to pizzas, to jacket potatoes (with various toppings) and kebab/shawarma options. There were many hearty meals to choose from but I decided that I would pick their '12 oz' Gourmet Burger (with cheese added) and a Large "Tandoori" Calzone.  The Food  I was shocked at the difference between the two items on my order, The tandoori calzone was head and shoulders above the 12 oz burger. But that wasn't the whole story, alt...

Black Rooster

Image
Black Rooster (Finnieston) Black Rooster is a Peri-peri chicken chain founded in Glasgow Duke Street in 2017. Since opening its seen a great deal of success and opened multiple locations in the North of England and Scotland. I was recommended this restaurant by a close friend of mine and was eager to try it for myself.  The Menu The Black Rooster chain offers a wide menu which incorporated its Peri-Peri chicken into many other countries cuisine. They had Peri-peri: Burritos (Mexico), Pita Wraps (Middle East), Panini (Italy) as well as well as so many other options common to the western style of food which is primary in Glasgow. With so many options on offer its difficult to mention it all with this style of the review however the main headings on their menu are... Grilled Chicken, Burgers, Wraps, Sides and Premium sides, Deserts, Kids, salads and Vegetarian. The options on this menu also sported a more premium price point.  The Food  There's so much to say about the...

Shawarma Grill

Image
Shawarma Grill (Paisley Road) Good-day readers and, welcome to our second Food review. In our last review we covered " Wingstop " so be sure to catch up on that post if you haven't already! This next review will cover the restaurant " Shawarma Grill ". Shawarma is a Turkish cuisine which typically involves chicken, beef, lamb or a combination of all three. These meats tend be cooked on a rotisserie style spit and are sliced from it to form thin slices.  The Menu The menu at Shawarma grill was simple and humble, offering many of the dishes you should expect at a fine Shawarma restaurant. All dishes were halal and gluten free. This makes their menu accessible to a wide variety of customers. From their menu, I ordered a mixed shawarma wrap, which was a combination of lamb, chicken and beef with fresh salad and red cabbage. Within the wrap you are also offered garlic mayonnaise and chilli sauce, I opted for both. The meat and salad was wrapped in a freshly made pit...

Wingstop

Wingstop (West Street) Dear readers, welcome to our first review! The American international food chain "Wingstop" has seen global success with restaurants open across various countries in North America, Europe and Asia. I chose Wingstop as the first takeaway to review because it has only recently arrived in Glasgow. Currently, Wingstop in Glasgow only offers food deliveries (via Deliveroo) which is less than ideal for a quick bite whilst on the go.  The Menu Wingstop offers a small selection of dishes to choose from however, they do provide the customer with a wide variety of customisability for their order. When you order chicken from Wingstop they provide you with 11 different flavour options. Furthermore, if you order either chicken wings or boneless chicken, they will allow you to select up to two flavours, so you receive half your order with each of your selected flavours. The Food With all that said onto the "meat and potatoes" of the review. I or...
